THE GLOBE
The Globe Public House on London Road opened in October 2001 after extensive
refurbishment and gets its name from the Globe Cinema which was adjacent to the site and closed in 1972..
It serves a varied selection of traditional hand pulled ales from both local micro and quality regional brewers, including The Nottingham Brewery in Radford, and Magpie Brewery which is brewed just across the road at Ashling Court just behind Notts County’s Football Ground. It also serves a selection of lagers and has a comprehensive wine list..
Food is only served on match days and is limited to a selection of rolls however our function room can accommodate up to a 100 people a comprehensive buffet menu can be arranged to suit all pockets and tastes
The Globe is the ideal stop off point on the way to any of the sports stadiums in the immediate area, being particularly close to Meadow Lane the home of Notts County, it has quickly become a popular watering hole for magpies fans, and well frequented by both Forest fans and cricket fans on the way to watch test match cricket at Trent Bridge.
MEET THE IN-LAWS
It was the third venture in Nottingham for partners Howard & Willans following on from the success of Fellows, Morton & Clayton on Canal Street, and The Southbank Bar on Trent Bridge, both of which also pride themselves on the quality of ale, food, and service.
All three venues are now joined by The Approach on Friar Lane which is rapidly establishing a reputation as the total entertainment venue in Nottingham.
LIVE FOOTBALL
All Sky football matches, including Premierplus are shown in the bar which has a large plasma screen and three other televisions. A big screen is also available in the function room .
We are situated 2 minutes from Trent Bridge and 10 minutes from the City on foot, on the island next to London Road, the main route into the city. Adjoining the pub is a large floodlit car park covered at all times by CCTV so next time you are in the area please call in to see us, we will be only too pleased to see you.
FUNCTION ROOM
As part of the redevelopment works a 100 capacity function room was created on the first floor, which is ideal for meetings be they for business or pleasure. more about the function room here
